What is IPAQ-SF?

The Short Form of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ-SF) asks about three types of activity: walking, moderate-intensity activities, and vigorous-intensity activities – along with daily sitting time.

How to complete it

  • Think about all vigorous activities that made you breathe much harder than normal.
  • Think about all moderate activities that made you breathe somewhat harder.
  • Think about any walking you did (at work, home, or for recreation).
  • For each activity type, enter the number of days (0–7) and the minutes per day you spent doing it.
  • Activities lasting at least 10 minutes at a time should be counted.
  • Enter 0 if you did not do that activity during the last 7 days.
